Our client is a Nottingham-based Design and Build M&E contractor with complimentary FM and Fire and Security Divisions. The company’s work stream is mainly D&B majoring in logistics facilities as well as education, leisure, office facilities, manufacturing and specialist builds.
The company has multiple long-term clients. Tenders are often 2-stage, preferred bidder or restricted tender list opportunities. Mechanical tenders and contracts may vary between £100k and £5m+.

This role demands extensive experience in this area of mechanical services design / estimating. You will be a team player with good client and technical skills and able to deliver considered
proposals, tailored to the clients needs.
What will your role look like? Pre-Tender Period:
• Collaborate with the Commercial Director and other Managers within the team to identify prospective tender opportunities, understanding preferred types (negotiated, preferred
bidder, 2-stage tender).
• Develop tender opportunities with both existing and new clients, assisting with budget costs and high-level schemes when needed.
• Assist clients in creating design briefs/specifications.
Tender/Post Tender Period:
• Manage tender process and deliverables, handling RFl's and liaising with clients.
• Develop principal design elements/systems for Design & Build tenders, coordinating with specific designers and estimators.
• Produce 2-stage tender reports, ensuring the correct approach, scheme, and presentation within specified timelines.
• Coordinate with the Contracts Director for programming input and adjudicate final tender design and costings.
• Manage post-tender processes, handling queries, addendums, technical appraisals, and attending post-tender interviews.
• Assist the Commercial Director in reaching an agreed contract sum and scope with the client.
Design Delivery:
• Facilitate an efficient handover between estimating and design, setting up contract design processes.
• Coordinate with design engineers and principal mechanical engineer for efficient design delivery.
• Explore value engineering opportunities and ensure effective liaison and coordination with electrical designers.
• Monitor design progress, oversee production with design engineers, and attend design team meetings as required.
What can you expect in return?
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (Part L, EPC) and monitor estimation design against actual design.

• Manage design variations initiated by the client team, advising on cost and effects.
