Electrical Engineer

We are recruiting a shift Electrical Engineer to join an industry leading manufacturer in the heart of Rotherham.
Main Areas of Responsibility
- To provide an effective breakdown service, involving fault finding and repaid of production services equipment across each shift
- Assist in installations, commissioning and start-up of equipment on site projects
- To provide an effective planned maintenance service, carrying out planned maintenance routines, including inspection, adjustment and lubrication
- To carry out safety inspections of equipment to comply with the company health and safety policy
- To carry out new equipment installation as required
- To ensure compliance with company and legislative health and safety policies, procedures and standards at all times
- To complete engineering breakdown reports
- Cover shifts as required for holidays and sickness for other members of the maintenance team
- To ensure hygiene and house-keeping standards are met and adhere to hygiene regulations
- To practice Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) with factory areas
- Provide support and advice to engineers and department managers where appropriate
- To participate in-house and external training courses as deemed relevant by the Company.
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance routines and rectify defects where appropriate during planned maintenance or on immediate request
- Supervise apprentices
- Provide dedicated assistance to a planned call out rota 24hr cover 7 days a week
- Member of the Rescue (confined spaces / heights) team.
- Any other reasonable duties as requested within skill set
Person Specification
- Manufacturing background beneficial
- Basic computer skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- An ONC/HNC or completed a recognised apprenticeship in electrical engineering
- Successfully completed 18th edition BS7671 wiring regulations
- Successfully completed BS2391 Part 1 - periodic inspection and testing of fixed electrical wiring
- Successfully completed H.V. Awareness course (desirable)
- PLC programming qualifications Siemens S5 and S7 (desirable)
- Able to use own initiative and work without supervision
- Attention to detail, observant, thorough and able to complete service reports and PM routines
- Fault-finding skills
- Proven problem solver

Salary £50,000 to £51,000
