Apex Resources are looking for a Multi-Skilled Engineer for a position available in Edinburgh.

Brief Description of Role:

The successful candidate will be required to carry out all aspects of plant maintenance and repair to ensure the effective and efficient operations of the production and intake systems, to minimise downtime. As an engineer you should be able to proactively carry out all aspects of plant maintenance to a planned schedule, seeking solutions where abnormalities occur. This requires consistently liaising with the team addressing breakdowns or interruptions to production and dealing promptly with any issues, escalating where necessary. An essential aspect of the role is the initiative to drive continuous improvement, reviewing current methodology and opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, quality and performance.

Basic Salary: £50,364

Overtime: x 1.5

Shift Pattern:

42 hours per week on average, working 4 shifts of 12 hours on a 4 on 4 off pattern. You will be required to work both day and night shift and be part of the on-call rota.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, the desired candidate should ideally have a qualification/apprenticeship in both mechanical and electrical fields and be at minimum 17th Edition certified. As an experienced engineer, ideally within the food and drink sector, you will have an excellent understanding of working with strict safety and quality control procedures and KPI’s.

You should also be able to demonstrate good experience of implementing both short term and long-term solutions and projects in an engineering function covering both electrical and mechanical equipment. You should have a strong attention to detail whilst working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment whilst having a heightened awareness of personal safety and a good understanding of safe working practices within an engineering role.
