Maintenance Engineer

Mildenhall, Suffolk

Monday- Friday (40-45 hours per week, flexible hours)

£30,000 - £40,000

Our client based in Mildenhall is seeking an experienced maintenance engineer to join their team. You will be familiar with Production machinery, particularly Lathe machines and experience of performing a maintenance role within a production environment.

You will have a very good mechanical aptitude and be capable of stripping down machines to replace items such as bearings, conveyor belts and other wear parts.

• To assist the Lathe Area Department in maintaining 16 Multispindle Lathe Machines and Ancillary Equipment.
• To diagnose faults with Machines and Equipment.
• To strip down Machines and Equipment when necessary to replace mechanical wear parts.
• To complete and update tasks using a Maintenance based software.
• To support and assist with Service Engineer visits.
• To determine spare part requirements to maintain production on a 24/7 basis.
• To investigate and where possible offer suggestions for improvements and/or cost reductions.
• To assist other areas of the business in a Maintenance role as and when required.

What we are looking for:

• Have experience in using a range of general workshop machinery and equipment.     
• Be familiar with Production Machinery, particularly Lathe Machines, and also have at least 5-10 years’ experience of performing a Maintenance role within a production environment.
• Very good mechanical aptitude and be capable of stripping down Machines to replace items, such as Bearings, Conveyor Belts and other wear parts.
• Disciplined, self-motivated and be able to work as both an individual and as part of a team.     
• Required to work outside of normal working hours as and when necessary.
• Show flexibility and support to other areas of the business in a Maintenance role when needed.
• Have strong communication skills, being able to discuss problems and issues with all levels of personnel.
