Job Description

In this role, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the electrical and building services engineering at our client's properties.

From electrical fault finding to repairs, maintenance, and installations, you'll ensure that our client's facilities operate smoothly and efficiently.

Our client are committed to delivering a world-class building services maintenance service, and we're looking for an experienced individual who shares our dedication to excellence.

Our client will be working with the UK Government under contract to a High-Profile Client. For this role security clearance to a high government level will be required which must be maintained throughout the term of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and repairs overhead and underground distribution systems, including transformers, circuit interrupters, reclosers, capacitors, voltage regulators, medium voltage switches, utility poles, and supporting hardware
  • Replace and install medium voltage overhead and underground electrical circuits and terminations
  • Fabricate and install a variety of components including but not limited to duct banks, cable runs, concrete pads for electrical equipment, risers, transformer banks, and low voltage electrical panels
  • Operate various components on the medium and high voltage distribution electrical system including isolation switches, interrupters, capacitor banks, transformers, overhead fused cut outs, and voltage regulators
  • Inspect overhead and underground distribution systems, tests, and documents findings
  • Direct the work of unskilled and semi-skilled helpers assisting in projects, assuring that proper safety practices are followed
  • Provide on the job training to apprentices
  • Coordinate work with customers, project managers, other crafts, and inspectors; inspects job sites and reviews detailed plans, drawings and oral directions to plan work
  • Prepare detailed estimates including labour and materials and prepare lists of materials

About You

  • Strong level of electrical qualification including HV AP P
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Security clearance to a high government level will be required
  • First Aid (Include Resuscitation)
  • Safety and safe working practices pertaining to High Voltage electrical work, including ensuring clearances, and working on energized lines and equipment
