£60,000 - £70,000/annum 4% pension, 25 days hol+BH, hybrid

The company is currently experiencing rapid growth, investing heavily in internal product development, and aiming to continue to revolutionize the sectors in which they operate (power generation, automotive, aerospace. defence, and manufacturing).

Info about what the role entails

Externally facing product development role. A broad technical role reporting to the Systems Engineering Team Leader as the Technical Lead / Senior Systems Engineer  in this customer facing role you will be the product owner for all technical content. A full lifecycle product development role but your focus will be at the early stages of the V model around customer requirements elicitation and V+V activities.

You will have no direct reports and will not need to be a SME but as the Technical Lead you will direct the work of up to 10 members of the Engineering Team (Software / Hardware / Electronics etc)..

Essential Requirements of the Systems Engineer - Technical Lead

  • Externally facing experience working with external customers or suppliers. 
  • Full lifecycle systems engineering / product development experience - taking ownership of product roadmap, escalation of everything on the roadmap etc
  • Engineering background - Electronics, Software, Hardware, Systems etc
  • 3+ years’ experience in a product development role
  • Able to work closely with customers to elicit / capture customer requirements, know what questions to ask

Desirable Requirements of the Systems Engineer - Technical Lead

  • MBSE in an enterprise architect environment
  • High reliability / safety critical experience (DO-178, 61508 etc)
  • Full lifecycle experience with a focus on requirements capture, architecture and V+V activities
