Our client, an innovative medical device company, specialising in eyecare solutions, is on the lookout for an experienced Medical Device Design and Development Engineer to join our team in Lancashire. The successful Medical Device Design and Development Engineer will lead projects from the drawing board all the way through to market launch. This role is pivotal in transforming eyecare for both clinical settings and home use.

Key Responsibilities:

• As a Medical Device Design and Development Engineer, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of medical device development, including design, development, and testing, to ensure our products exceed industry standards.
• The Medical Device Design and Development Engineer will manage collaborations with external design consultants in Electronics, Software, User Experience, and Branding to produce state-of-the-art medical devices.
• Engage with top eyecare specialists to ensure product requirements are meticulously captured and validated, a key task for the Medical Device Design and Development Engineer.
• Lead the selection and management of new contract manufacturer suppliers, a critical function for our Medical Device Design and Development Engineer to ensure supply chain efficiency.
• Act as the Solidworks PDM System Administrator, a responsibility of the Medical Device Design and Development Engineer, to maintain the integrity of our design data.
• Utilize prototyping equipment, such as 3D printers and laser cutters, essential tools for a Medical Device Design and Development Engineer to create early-stage prototypes.

Ideal Candidate:

• Proven track record in the design, development, and testing of medical devices, with a preference for candidates with experience in the eyecare sector.
• Demonstrable ability to lead external design and development teams towards achieving project milestones.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for successful collaboration with healthcare professionals and team members.
• Experienced in supplier management and knowledgeable about the medical device supply chain.
• Proficient in Solidworks PDM and adept in using prototyping equipment.
