My client is a long established successful specialist manufacturing engineering SME serving customers in high reliability sectors. They are currently in need of a Welding Technician to join their small but busy Gas Filled Detectors team.

ROLE: To be considered for this role, you will be an experiences TIG welder and an expert in welding a wide range of special materials.

DUTIES:

• TIG weld Stainless Steel, Mild Steel, Aluminium, Titanium, Nickel and other exotic materials and alloys.
• Semi-automated welding using lathes and turntables.
• Conducting welding in front of accredited welding inspectors to gain third party approval to recognised welding standards.
• Following weld specifications, engineering drawings, assembly procedures.
• Working to tight tolerances, including straightness and concentricity checks.
• Working with typical material thicknesses ranging from 0.5mm – 10.0mm.
• Supporting the development of approved weld procedures.
• Ensuring documentation is completed and adhered to during manufacture and is presentable to customers.
• Providing welding and assembly support to Production Department when required.
• Supporting both on and off-site manufacturing and testing in line with production plans when required.
• Basic upkeep (maintenance and calibration) of equipment/tools.

SKILLS:

• TIG Welding (3-5 years)

SALARY: £38,000 PER ANNUM
