Associate or Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services Design  

£60K - £70K               

Maple Cross, Hertfordshire – Hybrid Working (or can be fully office based if preferred)

This role is to join an established consulting engineering practice who specialise in design within the mechanical and electrical field, they are now looking for a Senior or Associate Mechanical Engineer to join their team.

They are a professional SME with a good reputation and repeat customers, design work undertaken includes schools, university, cultural, high end residential, offices, and listed buildings.

Responsibilities

• Be client facing and involved in all stages of the projects from inception to completion.
• Producing drawings and specifications
• Producing calculations or guiding others to complete them.
• Promote a high level of technical excellence relating to mechanical engineering within the team.
• Maintain repeat business through customer care of existing clients.
• Working on a variety of technically challenging and interesting projects across varied sectors
• Working closely with others in a team environment to achieve a common goal.

Experience / Key Skills

• Experience of mechanical design engineering in building services from inception to completion.
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of detailed co-ordination with other design disciplines.
• Possess genuine interest and knowledge of sustainable design and low energy buildings.
• Familiarity with site practices, and experience of inspections and surveys
• Possess a good understanding of the commercial factors which affect design solutions.
• Competent in specification writing, design/drawing for all building types.
