Role: Mechanical Design Engineer

Base Salary: £35k £42K (OR MORE DOE) Retail discounts, plus other benefits

Hours: 40pw

Location: Leicester

Our client seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer who has great experience within pressings, fabrication and CNC turning design parts. The Mechanical Design Engineer must be able to effectively delivery of designs in a timely manner. Create BOM, carry out the right calculations and be an expert using SOILIDWORKS and use the JAVELIN System to update each job (Training giving). This candidate must also manage the workload accordingly and provide regular reporting to Senior Management. The Mechanical Design Engineer must have experience within some or all the following sectors heavy machinery, automotive, automation, aerospace.

Mechanical Design Engineer overall responsibility

• Designing both bespoke and updating existing products and solutions
• Produce drawings using SolidWorks
• Creating BOM
• Ensuring that Engineering calculations are carried out
• Ensure Directives & Engineering standards are adhered to
• Customer Liaison
• Occasional visits to our customer sites.

Mechanical Design Engineer Qualifications

• Relevant Engineering degree - Mechanical Engineering preferred
• Minimum 3 years post qualification Mechanical Design Engineering experience
• Hands on exposure to the design of electro-mechanical systems in an industrial, automotive, or aerospace environment. Ideally designing automotive, aerospace, automation, and in particular pressings
• Able to interpret customer and supplier technical documentation & specifications
• Proficient in the generation of design concepts taking input from other cross-functional team members.
