HGV TRANSPORT FITTER

CARDIFF

PERMANENT FULL TIME

SALARY £19.50 PER HOUR NEGOTIABLE DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

RSW LTD are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated HGV Transport Fitter to join our client based in Cardiff.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

• Ensure vehicles are maintained above the minimum standards required by the DVSA between scheduled service/inspection dates to support existing third-party servicing arrangements.
• Provide standby and out of hours callout cover when required (van supplied)
• Ensure vehicle chassis’ and associated vehicle auxiliary engine are maintained in line with the service planner and company policies
• Have the opportunity to work on a range of vehicles from light commercial to HGV vehicles
• Ensure Health & Safety compliance at all times

Technical Skills:

• Experienced mechanic (Level 2 plus qualified desirable)
• Be familiar with modern fault code reader diagnostic systems
• Have knowledge of HGV chassis manufacturers and specialist equipment mounted on vehicles (desirable)

Skills Required:

• Ability to work unsupervised
• High standard of work
• Work well within a team as well as the ability to use own initiative
• Complete tasks to specified timescales
• Be organised with day-to-day paperwork (eg job sheets and parts ordering)
• Hold relevant licences to drive or test vehicles and equipment

Excellent salary package with time and half on Saturday and double time on Sundays.
