Quantity Surveyor - Bristol based - Excellent salary & benefits package

In this role as Quantity Surveyor, you will be supporting the Commercial Manager to deliver and exceed forecasted performance, as well as mitigating risk by providing timely and accurate information to the commercial and engineering departments. 
 

Key responsibilities include;

  • Providing exemplary contract support including scoping packages, issuing tender enquiries, analysis and collating documentation 
  • Selection, procurement, and management of supply chain contract packages 
  • Utilising the company’s financial systems and process’s assist the commercial team and project engineers with the financial goals of projects. Including budget support, cost control, ensuring costs and revenues are allocated correctly, procurement including competitive tenders, and forecasting budgets for financial reporting of awarded projects 
  • Contribute to the overall management of commercial contracts to optimise the profitability and optimum cashflow position 
  • Support robust change management and mitigate disputes through excellent collation of accurate records and audit trails 
  • Support the monthly project review process and work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to produce accurate timely progress reports and ongoing forecasting for the life of the project 
  • Assist the commercial team and project engineers with legal and contractual issues on projects  
  • Contribute to the future success of Powersystems and clients. 
  • Proactively look at ways to enhance the service offered by the business and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of company processes.

Qualifications
Minimum three years of up-to-date knowledge and experience in construction and surveying, a relevant degree in commercial management, quantity surveying or similar will be required. 
An excellent communicator and ambassador of the business at all levels confident in managing clients, contractors and third-party supplier relations 
Full UK driving licence   
Right to work within the UK without limitation  

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:     
Comfortable using all Microsoft applications and have robust IT literacy 
Proven attention to detail and able to demonstrate good oral and written communication skills, which might include detailed and complex figures and calculations   
A practical, logical and methodical approach to thinking and problem solving 
A team player with a confident and enthusiastic attitude
