My client in Cornwall is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer. 

Salary Hours Hols 

£30000 to £38,000 per annum, salary negotiable on experience. Working 37.5hrs/week. 33 days holidays per annum including bank holidays 

Job role 

The client is offering a fantastic opportunity to become part of a growing team in the design and manufacture of offshore survey equipment. The candidate must have experience in 3D modelling and drafting using SolidWorks (other platforms considered), structural design calculations, preparation of BOM’s and production of technical files. A background understanding of offshore survey equipment would be advantageous but is not essential and suppliers. 

Responsibilities 

The candidate will be required to produce engineered solutions to meet a vast range of technical demands. This will involve taking design projects from concept to completion, strong team player as you will be working closely with in-house project, design and manufacturing teams. There may be a requirement to travel when needed to meet customers. 

Essential Prerequisites 

· Minimum of 5 years 3D design experience using SolidWorks (other platforms will be considered) 

· Higher education in engineering related subject 

· Mechanical design experience 

· Time management skills 

· Excellent communication skills 

· Highly motivated team player 

Preferred Prerequisites 

· Sheet metal, machining and fabrication experience 

· Hydraulics experience 

· Electronics experience 

· Experience within a production environment 

· Offshore / geotechnical sampling background knowledge
