Do you have experience working in a precision engineering environment? We have an opportunity for an experienced Manual Machinist to join a world leading manufacturer of high precision mechanical products at their site based in Leek, Staffordshire.

What’s on offer?

• £15.00 per hour (higher rates available D.O.E)
• Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pm / Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm
• Overtime available
• 28 days holiday
• Christmas shutdown period

What will you be doing as a Manual Machinist?

• Learning how to read and understand technical drawings
• Developing accurate marking out skills
• Understanding the capabilities of the various machine shop equipment
• Learning how to drill and tap through blind holes
• Using digital and analogue measuring equipment (verniers, micrometres etc)
• Learning how to operate centre lathes and milling machines
• Understanding the techniques required to machine different materials
• Developing an eye for detail and self-checking finished work dimensions

What do you need?

• Previous experience in a precision engineering manufacturing environment
• Familiarity for precision measuring equipment
• An understanding of how to make and alter fixtures and jigs
• The ability to read and understand engineering drawings
