Junior Refrigeration Design Engineer

Location: Irlam, Manchester

The Refrigeration team are seeking a Graduate / Junior Engineer to be basd in Iralm. 

Working in the Stores Refrigeration department designing systems to support customer projects together with providing technical  support to the Azenta Store Service Department .    The Refrigeration Design Engineer will develop critical expertise in designing -20°C and the next generation -80°C refrigeration systems.

Purpose of the role

Perform theoretical analysis and design for refrigeration systems. Performing piping, component and subsystem design. Assist in the mechanical and frame design. Transferring system designs into regular production.

Responsibility

• Responsible or design/development, specification and evaluation of refrigeration equipment and systems.
• May contribute to total systems engineering, including other engineering disciplines.
• Conducts feasibility studies and tests new and modified refrigeration designs.
• Is involved in all phases of refrigeration development from initial concept to selecting equipment and sub-contractors. 
• Directs support personnel in the preparation of design documentation, design testing and prototype fabrication.
• Troubleshoot and support current and future refrigeration systems. Create and maintain design, troubleshooting and service documentation
• Provides design information and calculations for supporting documentation.
• Depending on level may function as a project engineer/leader with the resident responsibilities of proposals/project plan, schedules, work assignments, prime contact, technical presentations, cross functional issue resolution, etc.
• Is expected to keep up to date on technical advances in the discipline and related fields.

Skills and Aptitude Profile:

• Degree level in a technical engineering discipline
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD And Solidworks is essential
• Ideal candidates will hold background / or, have studied within the areas: thermodynamics, refrigeration, heat exchangers, fluid mechanics
