Data Cabling Engineer, Bristol

We are looking for a Data Cabling Engineers to work as part of the installation team carrying out works detailed below to deliver customer projects.

Core responsibilities

• Network cabinet installations
• Primary and secondary containment system installations
• Installation of Cat6 or Cat6A horizontal cabling solutions
• Termination, Testing & labelling of Cat6 / Cat6A solutions
• Network switch installation
• Copper patching
• Installation of fibre optic cable both internally & via pit and duct routes as required.
• Termination, Testing & labelling of fibre optic cables
• Fibre circuit patching & troubleshooting with the use of an OTDR.

Requirements

• Experience of terminating copper cabling (Category 5e, category 6 etc)
• Experience of testing both fibre optic and copper cables using Fluke Testers
• Good working knowledge of current installation practices
• Ability to work as part of a close team to high standards of workmanship.
• Experience of terminating fibre optic cables (cold cure and splicing)
• Experience in the installation of containment systems (both Steel and PVC)
• Knowledge of OTDR testing would be an advantage.
• Focused and able to work within a team and independently.
