Job Title – Project Design Engineer

Location – Dartford

Salary – £38k - £40k per annum

My client is a Security Door and Access Specialist who design, develop, install and service bespoke security systems across a variety of sectors.

The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role previously and have experience in designing counters, shop fronts, doors, access features or screens.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical knowledge and project management skills to support the engineering and technical efforts of all departments within the business, primarily focussing on delivery of client projects.

Due to the nature of the role, you should have a high degree of flexibility coupled with the ability to cover a diverse and involved workload.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain records for assigned tasks
• Maintain CAD templates & library
• Maintain awareness of relevant design standards
• Maintain LPCB certifications
• Produce client concept designs
• Create and maintain Product Design Specifications
• Attend customer meetings with sales team
• Provide technical product information and advice to other departments
• Prototype product build, installation and testing
• Produce site drawings for client approval
• Produce job specific manufacturing documentation
• Work with suppliers to ensure correct manufacture of parts and products
• Attend site meetings/surveys when required
• Visit potential suppliers and make technical assessments on new 3rd party products  
• Assess requests for modification of standard products
• Produce manufacturing details for modification of standard products
• Creating product/training manuals
• Be available to answer technical queries directly, via phone/email/MS Teams etc.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Autodesk Inventor (intermediate/advanced)
• Recent design experience in a similar environment
• Full UK Driving License
• Practical skills and physically fit with the ability to participate/assist in technical product build/install
• IT skills (proficient in Microsoft Office Suite)
• Positive can-do attitude towards work and fellow team members
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
• Excellent organisational and project management skills
• Highly technical with a drive to learn new products

Salary & Benefits

Salary of £38,000 to £40,000 per annum DOE
