Typically, this person will help with hand over of newbuild vessels to clients.

HSB Technical’s client is a very established and well-regarded business entity.

Duties and responsibilities of the Skipper:

• Working / managing a small team of permanent and contract staff on board during commissioning              
• Perform sea trails to ensure that each trial are met and that the vessel is fully tested in accordance of commissioning standards.             
• Create and complete accurate records.
• Support staff with planning work and resources, providing advice through out the process.
• Being responsible for passange planning, provisioning, briefings, safety on board, record keeping, maintenance, cleaning, hand over at destination. 
• Deliveries to or from boatshows / private views.
• Checking all troubleshooting of sailing and technical systems, this will involve resolving issues hands on as well as supporting other staff.

Qualifications and requirement for the Skipper:

• Extensive sailing and skippering experience, including on yachts of ~24m.
• Yacht Master Offshore Sail with commercial endorsement
• STCW95 Basic Safety Training, courses taken or revalidated within last five years
• ENG1 Medical Fitness Certificate              
• Travel / working from different sites. A Full UK Driving Licence is required            
• Must be flexible in approach to working hours.  Early mornings, late evenings and weekend working are required on occasion, as dictated by tides, weather and deadlines.
