Salary/Rate:
£35,000 - £44,000/annum

Maintenance Engineer

Salary £38,000 - £44,000, dependent on experience

Rotating day shifts 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide breakdown cover both electrical and mechanical
  • Have a knowledge of PLC controlled systems
  • Injection Moulding experience desirable
  • Carry out planned maintenance as per the companies PM schedules
  • Electronically record all relevant information relating to breakdowns and PMs
  • Carry out modifications, plant relocation and re-installation (mechanical and electrical)
  • Work safely within the companies Health and Safety requirements
  • Manage contractors when required
  • Work with the Maintenance Manager to rectify recurring issues
  • Undertake projects requested by the Maintenance Manager
  • Advise on spare part requirement to the Maintenance Manager

The Person

  • Apprentice trained with suitable qualifications, Level 3 C&G, ONC, HNC, HND in relevant fields mechanical / electrical
  • Injection moulding experience desirable but not essential
  • 17th / 18th edition wiring regulations desirable
  • Ability to read electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings
  • Experience working with PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider, Mitsubishi, Omron) would be advantageous
  • Experience with sensors and vision systems (Keyence, Sensopart, Balluff. Sick)
  • Knowledge of safety systems (Pilz, Schneider, Weiland, Rockwell, ABB)
  • Self-starter who can work effectively on their own under pressure and be able to prioritise breakdowns
  • Computer literate MS Office
  • Automotive manufacturing experience
