Principal Piping Engineer – Northeast

Jackson Hogg is supporting with the appointment of a Principal Piping Engineer, to work for a company who specialise in the design and engineering of large scale cryogenic storage systems for the worldwide oil and gas industry. You will be responsible for the design of pipework systems and overall layout of plant and equipment, supervision of the piping team, and providing technical support for Oil & Gas & LNG projects. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provide technical support for Oil, Gas and LNG projects across the department and externally, coordinating efficiently with sub-contractors and vendors.
• Lead the piping team in producing designs, drawings and other deliverable to standard and on-time.
• Manage resources, costs and deadlines to meet project objectives.
• Design, produce and check documentation.
• Supervise other piping engineers and designers.
• Responsible for material selection and specification and technical bid evaluation.
• Generate additional piping specifications as required, producing design reports, requisitions, and documentation to meet project goals.
• Ensure all codes/standards and procedures are followed at all times.
• Check and validate calculations, reports, data sheets, specifications and vendor supplied documentation.

Requirements:

• Highly experience Piping Engineer with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines (MSc OR MEng also desirable).
• Chartered Engineer.
• Experience leading a piping team and multi-discipline teams.
• Working knowledge of piping codes, standards and design practices with the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Industries.
• Experienced in pipe stress, surge and seismic analysis.
• Strong experience of Ceasar II / PSA5, experience of cryogenic handing & storage and 3D Design Software.
• Good communicator at all levels, strong decision-making skills and work on initiative with minimal supervision.
