Mechanical / HVAC Maintenance Engineer required on a Manufacturing site in Preston. Salary £40k+, plus Overtime and good benefits.

Our client is a National FM service provider who are looking for a Mechanical / HVAC Maintenance Engineer with a Building Services background to be part of a 2 person team on a Manufacturing site in Preston.

The role

Day to day HVAC / Mechanical Building Services maintenance on associated plant - (not the Manufacturing equipment itself). Typically this involves Planned Maintenance (PPM's) and reactive works on Boilers, steam plant, heating systems, plumbing, sanitary ware, some light fabric maintenance to the building, Air Conditioning systems, Air Handling Units, belts, pumps, motors, tap and water temp tests, (L8 certificate beneficial).

Particular experience on Boilers and Steam plant required and being BOAS accreditied will be hugely beneficial but training can be offered to obtain this.

As the Mechanical Engineer you will be working alongside an Electrical Biased Building Services Engineer and report to the off site Contract Manager.

As part of the maintenance contract there will be an On Call requirement which currently would be 1 in 2 weeks. However, in the last year there has never been a call out. Regardless, a standby allowance of £100 per week is still paid and in the event a call out is attended you would be paid a minimum of 4 hours for the 1st call at the prevailing overtime rate (time & half, double etc).

Location

As this is a static site you would ideally live with a reasonable commute to Preston, (East side), there is no vehicle supplied, but in the unlikely event you are called out you would be compensated for any fuel costs plus paid as per overtime rates.

Hours

Working Monday to Friday, typically 8 to 5 with an hour for lunch. Overtime is available at enhanced rates.

Salary / benefits

• Salary to £40/42k (dep on exp and quals)
• Standby Allowance - £100 basic, £20 extra for bank holidays.  Overtime paid at 17:00-00:00 time and a half, 00:00-08:00 double time.  First call out is 4 hours minimum then paid door to door thereafter.
• Holidays- 23 days plus bank holidays.
