Engineering Manager – Staff – Manufacturing – Salary + Bonus – North Lincolnshire

Our leading manufacturing client is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their organization on a staff basis.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be accountable for all engineering activities at the site, including maximising plant availability, achieving and improving functional SHE targets and performance, and responsibility for capital expenditure, operational improvements, and providing related project support

Main duties:

  • You will ensure the fulfilment of legal requirements of technical assets in line with all aspects of SHE, including liaising with regulatory inspection bodies and company insurers
  • You will develop the strategy, objectives and KPI’s for the entire Engineering Department (comprising the Mechanical, Automation, and Power & Control Teams) to achieve business objectives through improving asset availability
  • As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be actively involved in developing and delivering the overall site strategy
  • You will oversee mid- and long-term planning; and be responsible for the maintenance budget, the spare parts inventory value, and the identification of CAPEX projects & maintenance services for strategic asset development
  • You will manage, motivate and advance members of staff; conduct agreements on objectives; and be responsible for personnel planning and developing ideas for training measures
  • You will contribute to best practice exchange with other sites and the reliability community
  • You will develop relationships with Engineering contractor companies and suppliers to ensure optimum support for maintenance activities and breakdowns

Skills & Qualifications:

  • You’ll ideally hold an Engineering degree (or equivalent)
  • You’ll ideally have a NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Occupational Health & Wellbeing qualification
  • Ideally, you have at least ten years' engineering experience in a continuous chemical manufacturing environment, and experience of developing and executing an engineering strategy
  • You have good knowledge and understanding of maintenance and reliability tools, techniques and strategies, including FMEA, RCA, PPM, PdM and SAP PM Module
  • You are able to collect, analyse and act on plant performance data, driving the continuous improvement of reliability processes
  • You have a ‘can do’ attitude, a flexible approach, the ability to work to deadlines, and great communication skills
