We provide top level service from concept to completion for the Leisure, Tourism, and Private Sectors.

POSITION: Technical Designer

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To develop creative concepts and turn them into working and build-able drawings. You will be responsible to check compliance to current legislation where applicable, work with structural engineers where required and design accordingly. You will work closely with the original concept designer to ensure they don't lose the 'magic' in the designs. You will work closely with the estimating team to ensure we stay on budget and value engineer without losing the quality. A driven, self-motivated approach is always essential along with a ‘can-do’ attitude. You will have a general commercial understanding and represent the company in a professional and proactive manner in all dealings with those associated with and affected by the building projects.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Once a project is secured the salesperson hands over to the QS, Project Manager, Technical Designer and Project Assistant.

The Technical Designer’s responsibilities will then consist of, but are not limited to the following:

• Develop creative concepts and turn them into working drawings
• Work with structural engineers where required and design accordingly
• Work closely with the original concept designer
• Work closely with the estimating team to ensure we stay on budget with each project
• Look for value engineering opportunities where possible
• Create and develop a library of standard designs

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

My client are considering people from various backgrounds and experience. This includes someone from an Architectural, Building or Joinery Background who has used AutoCAD + Solidworks, Sketchup, or Revit Design Software. However, they are looking to attract people at all levels and are willing to train where needed and would be willing to speak with Graduates who have studied design or construction related courses.
