Source Solutions are proud to be working with a leading, highly regarded contractor and platinum award investor in people, within electrical infrastructure, a pioneer within reduced carbon solutions and innovator within net zero strategy on a large scale, to identify an experienced and knowledgeable Protections Settings Engineer HV systems up to 132k - although development can be offered for those who have not worked to 132kv

This position would suit an experienced electrical design or power systems engineer, knowledgeable on protection relay settings / requirements and applications across HV networks. This is a role that will utilise a breadth of technical and theoretical knowledge and will see the successful candidate develop protection settings across brand new substation / network builds  as well as network extensions.

The role will also involve building relationships with other engineers and departments, in order to obtain accurate information with which to form your calculations and to easily collaborate, and so strong interpersonal skills are key.

Candidate requirements

  • HND minimum in electrical engineering or other relevant subject
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of electricity distribution systems 11kv to 33kv (ideally up to 132 kv) 
  • Extensive knowledge of protection and related controls on HV networks
  • Knowledge of national and international standards relevant to the specifying of protection equipment and settings.
