Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor - Durham
I'm currently working with a leading M&E company that are seeking a degree qualified Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join their talented team on a large pharmaceutical project to play a crucial role in overseeing the electrical cost management and quantity surveying activities for the project. You will collaborate closely with the project team, including engineers, BIM, estimation, procurement, sub-contractors, and clients, to ensure accurate and efficient cost control, estimation, and reporting.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the estimation team to review and validate electrical cost estimates for each project.
- Manage all aspects of electrical cost control and identify potential commercial risks and ensure prompt reporting of same to management.
- Conduct cost analysis and value engineering exercises to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor and track electrical project costs, including variations, change orders, and progress payments both upstream and downstream.
- Collaborate with the estimation / BIM team to ensure accurate quantity take-offs and bills of quantities for electrical systems and installations in each project.
- Review electrical drawings and specification revisions to ensure any changes are identified. Conduct site visits and inspections to assess electrical work progress, validate quantities, and address any discrepancies.
- Evaluate subcontractor's claims and prepare reports on quantities, rates, and payment applications
- Relevant degree/Qualification
- experience as a Senior Electrical QS on large-scale construction projects, preferably within the Pharmaceutical or Data Centre sector.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation practices.
- Proficiency in using relevant QS software and tools (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, Countfire, Excel).
