Quality and Reliability Engineer

My client is a manufacturer of electrical and electronic components and have wholly owned subsidiaries worldwide.  This role is working from their head office based in Hatfield, Herts and they are looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer with experience in testing electrical and electronic components, looking at existing products and new products in the market.

The role responsibilities will include:-

  • Evaluation and approval of new products to ensure the required standard of quality and reliability.

  • Evaluation/audit of new and existing sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure high standards of quality are achieved.

  • Ensuring the company’s products meets the required British, European and International Standards, and National wiring regulations.

  • Liaising with third-party accreditation bodies such as UL, ESV, Dekra, CQC, TUV and VDE.

  • Undertaking product assessments and comparisons with competitor products, including the production of technical and comparative reports.

  • Working with customers, up to Director level, to ensure a total understanding of their requirements and how the company can best meet them.

  • Review, evaluation and reporting on customer product quality or application issues

  • Maintaining the company’s compliance and accreditation with ISO 9001:2015

The role will involve liaising with suppliers across the world, occasional visits and also extensive liaison internally and with external customers.  Also producing analytical reports using Excel.
