An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Linux Developer join this global manufacturer of specialist machinery and equipment, where you will enjoy a Hybrid role working from home and the manufacturing facility in Bishops Stortford.

THE ROLE

As the Senior Linux Developer you will be responsible for the design and the development of control applications for specialist machinery and devices. You will be responsible for the architectural design of reliable software solutions. Other duties include:

• Software design using C++ and embedded Linux

• Analyze product/system-level requirements and translates them into software specifications. Determine technical feasibility of new product features.

• Designs, implements, tests, and debugs applications according to corporate and departmental standards and procedures on new and sustaining engineering projects.

• Creates software development process documentation including requirements, design, interface specifications, verification documentation, software plans and reports.

• Software Testing Experience

This role is based in the R&D Department in Bishops Stortford as well as from home.

THE PERSON

Ideally you will be a graduate with experience of developing software and products from within an engineering environment or similar. Ideally you will have strong experience in C++ embedded and Linux software and design, and multi-threaded/multi-tasking programming, or practical experience in HMI/PLC programming. It is not expected that you are an expert in all of these areas however some will be of advantage.
