M&E Quantity Surveyor (New Build)

Central London

£70,000 + travel

Our client is a successful and highly respected M&E contractor based in central London. Privately owned and with a reputation for successfully delivering complex schemes, they specialise in new build and refurbishment projects within the Commercial, Residential, Education, and Leisure sectors in and around central London, ranging from £5m to £40m in value.

They enjoy working on a broad range of challenging projects from new build developments to heavy refurbishments with retained facades and the subsequent fit out. With an extensive and impressive pipeline of work, the majority of which is repeat business, they wish to add a new Quantity Surveyor to the team to help deliver these projects.

Supporting and reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor, responsibilities will include:

  • Cost control through efficient planning, forecasting and estimating
  • Valuations and Variations
  • Reviewing tenders
  • Procurement of sub-contractors, equipment and materials
  • Risk analysis
  • Dispute resolution
  • Regular reporting to directors and the client and preparing relevant documents

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management, including direct contact with clients
  • Ability to work to programmes and meet deadlines
  • A good understanding of the construction process from an operations perspective
  • Experience working on £5m+ new build projects
  • A minimum of 3 years’ industry experience as a quantity surveyor
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying is preferred

The role of Quantity Surveyor comes with a salary of £85,000 + travel
