Our projects range in value from £5k to £15m, taking the role of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer on various schemes, and supporting our valued Tier 1 contractor clients in a subcontractor and off-site manufacturing capacity.

PURPOSE

The main purpose of this role is to fulfil reactive and pre-planned maintenance works on client sites across the Wessex region. This team carries out customised solutions, maintenance and breakdown works (CSMB).

This is not just reactive and planned maintenance, this role will also involved new installation projects, and will be working on customer sites on a daily basis in a customer facing role.

THE ROLE

Contracted to 40hrs per week on site hours, Monday to Friday. Paid hourly, with overtime paid.

You will be paid your travel time door to door, on top of your contracted and overtime hours.

  • To be responsible for completing electrical installations in accordance with BS7671 and Bridges Safety Rules and Essential Standards.
  • To carry out CSMB duties (other than electrical) to enable the completion of projects as required.
  • To follow and actively promote the STAR dynamic risk assessment and to be empowered to stop work should unsafe circumstances arise.
  • To coach and mentor Electrical Improvers and Apprentices.
  • Promote and demonstrate the Bridges’ values when dealing with peers, staff, customer and clients.
  • To act in a professional manner and be an ambassador for Bridges.

Requirements

Essential

  • Experience as an approved Electrician.
  • ECS Gold Card (essential).
  • Track record of maintenance and breakdown activities.
  • Able to manage own workload with minimal assistance from Project Managers.
  • Willingness to be part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of 3 phase motors and control.
  • Proven fault diagnosis skills.
  • Ability to provide detailed reports.

Desirable

  • Experience within aggregate / water / construction industries
  • Industrial and/or panel wiring experience (desirable)
  • Track record of working with devices such as VSD’s soft starts, PLC’s, Device networks and process instrumentation i.e. level controllers (desirable)
