As a Tools Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining a suite of tools that empower the entire development team. You will work closely with other disciplines to understand their needs and create efficient and user-friendly tools to enhance their productivity. You will consistently strive for excellence in tool development, pushing for quality and optimizations at every opportunity. You will also actively seek out opportunities to learn and improve your own technical skills as a member of a dynamic and ambitious team.

Key Duties Include

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to gather requirements and design, develop, and maintain tools to support the production pipeline
  • Implement and improve existing tools and features based on user feedback and evolving needs
  • Ensure the tools are robust, reliable, and optimized for performance
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality code standards
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in tool development
  • Actively contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture

Requirements

  • Experience working as a Tools Engineer in the game development industry
  • Proficient in programming languages such as C++
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Passion for game development and a desire to create impactful tools

Desirable

  • Familiarity with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python
  • Knowledge of common DCC tools, such as Maya, 3DS Max, or Houdini
  • Experience with version control systems like Git
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
