We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Software Business Unit working on our market leading SaaS estate agency product Alto. This is a fast growing and exciting business going through change, where we have relationships with over 25,000 estate agent and developer customers across the UK.

What we are looking for

We are in search of a dynamic individual who is passionate about tackling engaging challenges and is adept at prioritising to focus on the most impactful tasks. Our ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable making strategic trade-offs to ensure that efforts are directed towards the most crucial projects. We operate in six-week cycles, maintaining fixed timelines with flexible scopes to adapt to the evolving needs of our projects

Tools and Technologies

Our technical environment is diverse and forward-thinking, utilising a range of tools and languages:

  • Infrastructure: We leverage AWS for our infrastructure needs, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform is our tool of choice for managing our infrastructure, enabling efficient and reliable deployments.
  • Backend Development: The majority of our backend services are developed in C#, with Typescript being used for the development of newer services.
  • Frontend Development: We create our frontend applications using Typescript, React, and Next.js, focusing on delivering a seamless user experience.
  • Distributed Services: Our distributed services architecture includes AWS technologies such as SQS, Eventbridge, and Lambda, supporting scalable and resilient systems.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Innovation and Trend Awareness: The ideal candidate will stay abreast of the latest industry trends, contributing to the innovative drive of the organisation.
  • Independent and Team Delivery: You will be capable of owning your delivery autonomously or as an integral part of a team, demonstrating both independence and collaborative skills.
