Joining the LEX Diagnostics team as an experienced Electronics Engineer, you’ll play an important role in refining the electronics design of the LEX system as we prepare for product launch. As well as working closely with the LEX team, you’ll also collaborate with the TTP electronics team to facilitate knowledge transfer, understand design intent, and offer external technical evaluations.

You are an adaptable and resourceful Electronics Engineer and, who is comfortable with the unique challenge of being the primary electronics expert within the LEX team. Additionally, the ideal candidate should be flexible and willing to contribute to various non-electronics tasks within the LEX team.

What you will be doing:

  • Collaborating closely with the TTP electronics team on development of the LEX system electronics.
  • Setting up internal systems to manage electronics designs and schematics, such as Altium.
  • Participating in the broader LEX development to troubleshoot emerging technical challenges within the electromechanical system.
  • Ensuring that all documentation of the electronics design is updated as LEX progresses through the Verification and Validation (V&V) process.
  • Managing relationships with external providers, including component suppliers and PCBA manufacturers.
  • Supporting with other areas of business as and when necessary.

 

Requirements

Skills and experience required to be successful in this role:

  • Hands on experience in electronics development within either In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) devices or a similar highly regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of standards including ISO13485, IEC 61010, and IEC 60601.
  • Ideally experience with: Motor control, including stepper and DC brushed motors; temperature control using resistive heaters and Peltier devices; optical systems involving LEDs and photodiodes; High-speed interfaces such as MIPI-DSI, SDRAM, and USB.
  • Familiarity with electronics simulations, notably using SPICE.
  • Experience in designing for manufacture and test in electronics.
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes for both flexible and rigid PCBs.
  • Ability to produce and review documentation necessary for medical device submissions.
  • Wider engineering skills to contribute beyond the electronics subsystem, ideally within software for task automation, knowledge of mechanical, thermal, or optical systems.
