The Role

At Weetabix Ryecroft, we pride ourselves on our commitment to producing high-quality breakfast cereals loved by millions across the globe. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant, maintaining our high standards of product quality and safety for troubleshooting and managing a wide range of engineering assets and activities at our Ashton under Lyne site. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the maximization of production, of our best selling malted products.

Please note this is a Panama shift pattern, which includes night shifts and weekend working.

In this role, you will work in alignment with company practices, procedures, and SOPs to ensure health and safety, food safety, and legal compliance.

You will perform maintenance tasks effectively and efficiently, report and escalate any issues identified during reactive breakdowns or proactive maintenance activities, and identify opportunities to improve the reliability of assets and engineering working processes. Additionally, you will provide training and support for the transfer of basic tasks to operators.

What you will need

  • Strong alignment to the Weetabix values

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • You should have completed an Engineering Qualification and/or Apprenticeship and possess demonstrable electrical competence through training and experience.
  • An ONC or NVQ equivalent qualification is a minimum requirement for this role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including control panels, PLCs, motors, and power distribution.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective IT skills, including the use of Computer Maintenance Management Systems, are essential.
  • You should have excellent problem-solving skills, good time management, communication, and decision-making abilities. Being a team player is also crucial in this role.
