Job Description

Our Energy Business Unit

Enabling the energy transition through innovation and sustainability.

AECOM's Energy Business Unit houses three specialised practices — nuclear, renewables, and transmission & distribution. Each practice plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy, offering innovative solutions that balance efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.

Transmission and Distribution

We have a tremendously challenging programme in front of us in the run up to achieving 2030 net zero targets. New overhead lines, underground cables, substations, battery storage and subsea links are all needed – and quickly. AECOM Transmission and Distribution is currently supporting the network development which will underpin grid modernisation. Our experts are involved at all stages of grid modernisation – and so can you be if you join us.

What your new role will entail:

Location

You can be based in any of our locations in the UK and Ireland which includes Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Croydon, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle, and St Albans.

We will consider hybrid-working arrangements and most of our people tend to work 2-3 days in the office/client sites and work from home the rest of the time.

The primary objective of this role is to lead the development and delivery of OSW activities.

  • Site and FAT visits
  • OEM Support Services
  • Due Diligence
  • Technical expert services
  • Some original design may also be involved.

You will lead and develop the OSW team and may have line management responsibility for those staff.

You will liaise with other teams internal and external to AECOM’s T&D practice including, but not limited to, the HVDC, Civils, Cable and P&C teams. You shall work closely with these teams to offer our clients a full end to end service.
