Are you a Low Carbon Energy Specialist with experience in developing low-carbon solutions in multiple sectors?

Our Energy team has delivered many high-profile projects across Ireland, the UK and globally, but we recognise that some of the challenges to be addressed need to happen at a small scale, so your projects and clients will be varied and interesting with huge opportunities to provide AECOM’s wide client base with effective low carbon solutions.

Examples of our current projects:

  • Energy audits for building owners and national utility organisationsProcess energy reviews for industrial clients
  • Complex estate decarbonisation master planning
  • Energy advisory and master planning
  • Solar power deployment to behind-the-meter-clients and grid-scale development
  • Low carbon generation studies

What your new role will entail:

As a Principal Low Carbon Engineer, you will be a senior member of the team and responsible for leading project delivery, developing and maintaining client relationships, team leadership and work-winning support.

You will be expected to be able to review and generate technical and contractual information from both internal and external sources.

You are likely to have a background working with a consulting entity but may have been in an advisory capacity with asset owners, utilities or government. You will also have strong technical knowledge, team leadership, communication and project management skills and the desire to grow your career at AECOM. Other aspects of the role include:

  • Perform specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Proposes an approach to solving new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
  • Identifies discrepancies in results.
  • Guides entry-level engineers.
  • Performs work within the agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
  • Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
