Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our Client's team in county Londonderry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in maintaining and repairing diesel engines and related systems. This role requires a hands-on approach, with an emphasis on equipment repair and the ability to work with various power tools. The Diesel Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our fleet.

Duties

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, including troubleshooting mechanical issues.
• Read and interpret schematics to understand complex systems.
• Perform routine maintenance on diesel vehicles, ensuring they are safe and operational.
• Assemble and disassemble engine components as necessary for repairs.
• Utilise power tools for various tasks, including repairs and installations.
• Conduct equipment repair tasks, ensuring all work meets industry standards.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to safety protocols.
• Assist in heavy lifting of components or machinery as required.
• Operate forklifts to move heavy equipment safely around the workshop.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role is essential.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair diesel engines effectively.
• Familiarity with using power tools, schematics, and diagnostic equipment is highly desirable.
• Experience in heavy lifting and operating forklifts is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills.
