Manufacturing Engineer

LOCATION – Plymouth
TERM- Permanent
SALARY – £35,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer on a permanent basis in the Plymouth area with experience in the mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronics or similar assembly Manufacturing Industry. Your main responsibilities will be assisting with New Product / Process Introduction as well as continuous improvement projects across the business.
The Manufacturing Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- Qualified in a relevant Engineering / Manufacturing Degree with time served as an Engineer.
- Previous experience working as a Manufacturing, Process, Industrialisation, Production or similar Engineer role.
- Understanding of assembly, electronics or electromechanical manufacturing processes.
- Exposure to NPI or tooling / jigs and fixtures.
- Have the ability to communicate with other members of staff and management.
- Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 environment would be beneficial but not essential
- Ability to work independently as well as team
- Experience of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma would be advantageous.
- Oversee and lead process improvement and continuous improvement projects within manufacturing.
- Liaise with other departments in NPI responsibilities such as tooling and fixtures as well as SOP writing.
- Offer assistance in day-to-day manufacturing issues that pop up.
- Carrying out new process implementations.
- Helping to advise on factory layouts and new product introductions.
