Civil Engineer – Birmingham
£35,000 - £45,000 + Benefits

We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join a growing team, working closely with structural engineers on a diverse range of projects. This role involves leading projects, ensuring effective resource allocation, and delivering high-quality civil engineering solutions across infrastructure, highways, and drainage. You’ll play a key part in feasibility studies, costing, and construction designs while mentoring junior engineers and working towards professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare design calculations, drawings, and reports with minimal supervision.
• Support project design from start to completion.
• Influence master-planning using knowledge of highways, drainage, and statutory regulations.
• Design highways, SUDS, utilities coordination/diversion, and building drainage.
• Conduct site investigations, inspections, and resolve any issues.
• Prepare fee proposals and manage financial aspects of projects.
• Mentor and support junior engineers.
• Represent the company at client meetings and design discussions.
• Work towards Chartership (if not already Chartered) and maintain CPD requirements.

Requirements:

• BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering (JBM-accredited).
• Chartered or near Chartered with the Institution of Civil Engineers.
• Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D/PDS, MicroDrainage, TEDDS, and other design software.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure and drainage regulations.
• Effective communication and project management skills.
