We are seeking a skilled Manual Turner Machinist to join a Surrey based precision engineering company. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating manual milling and turning machines, interpreting technical drawings, and producing high-quality components to tight tolerances.

Job Title:  Manual Turner Machinist

Shift:  Days, Monday – Friday @ 39 Hours per week

Rate: Up to £16 p/h

The Job:

  • Operate manual turning machines to produce components according to specifications.
  • Set up and adjust machine tools for use, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
  • Measure and mark out the material for machining accurately.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure components meet required specifications
  • Inspect finished components for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet specified tolerances.
  • Identify and rectify any machining errors or defects.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and adhere to quality control procedures.

The ideal candidate:

  • Proven experience as a manual turner machinist in a precision engineering environment.
  • Strong background in operating and setting up manual milling and turning machines.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
