Mechanical Design Engineer

(Injection Moulding / Medical)

This position will appeal to driven individuals who relish taking ownership and leading  design projects. Applicants should be self-motivated, positive in nature with a creative mindset and with the ability to communicate enthusiastically within a team environment.

Ideally qualified to HND / Degree level in Mechanical Engineering, you will have previous demonstrable experience and knowledge of the following elements : -

• 3D CAD (Solidworks / ProEngineer)
• Low and high-volume manufacturing and assembly techniques
• Plastics and Injection Moulding
• Mathematical modelling and FEA
• Tolerance analysis including statistical methodology.
• Product/Prototype analysis, testing and verification.

Although not essential, applicants with experience of the following disciplines would be advantaged.

• Strong analysis and practical problem-solving abilities
• Excellent oral, written and diagrammatic communication skills
• Creativity, innovation and attention to detail
• The ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with other engineers
• The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Previous experience working on medical  equipment/devices

The position will involve significant client interaction; the ability to communicate well with the flexibility to travel from time to time is essential. The company is agile and operates within a specialist/niche area of design engineering.
