Engineering Technician -

Area based although some travel in the UK may be required.

Engine experience is important along with knowledge of servicing a repairs of engines in any capacity will be considered.

Main duties
Day to day operations and maintenance including but not limited to: fault diagnosis, location and rectification.

• Planned maintenance and breakdown response on the generator sets with minimum outages.

• Maintain a vast number of large industrial engines across the north east and York area - from small jobs such as oil changes to much larger jobs such as engine rebuilds, decoking, servicing and diagnosis faults.
• Gas field management - such as doing regular gas balances to keep the gas produced from the landfill under control to stop migration, changing air pumps and fittings, replacing and fitting of pipe work using an EF welder.
• Remote management - use of a laptop with a state of the art management system, to use on the go where ever you maybe to keep the engines running minimising downtimes for such reasons as re-setting minor trips, changing loads, changing gas setting etc.

• On call ensuring engines are running correctly with no issues.
• Emissions monitoring to keep engines compliant
• Maintain the up-keep of assigned sites to keep them looking tidy and professional
• Maintenance of large industrial flares

• Maintenance of compressors

Knowledge/ Experience

• Experience in either a mechanical, heat, electrical or landfill gas skill.
• Experience working with Landfill Gas and/or on generators is advantageous.
• Gassafe accreditation advantageous
• Computer literate.
• Hold full UK drivers licence for manual transmission vehicle.
