Risktec Solutions Ltd - Graduate Engineer
We are currently looking for Graduate Engineers to become a part of the TÜV Rheinland Risktec team in Rail. This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to work with industry leading experts in Rolling Stock within TÜV Rheinland whilst developing your own engineering competencies. We are looking for a professional individual who is keen to develop an understanding of Rolling Stock Engineering.
The role will require the candidate to be willing to develop a wide variety of skills. These include, rolling stock engineering, application of CSM, maintenance optimisation and technical investigation skills. The candidate will have delegated project, budgetary and technical responsibilities, and will be required to communicate with clients verbally and through written reports and proposals.
This role will require a Candidate who has completed a BEng or MEng degree in Railway, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or similar). No prior experience of Railway engineering or working in a professional engineering environment is required although some previous experience of working as part of a team, communicating with clients, and understanding of risk assessment and safe working methods is considered to be advantageous.

Reporting To:
A member of the Rolling Stock Technical Consulting team.

Based from the office in Derby, and client site visits where appropriate.

Functional Scope:
To be responsible for assisting the delivery of a broad portfolio of rolling stock consultancy services within Risktec Solutions Ltd. Taking guidance from the more experienced members of the consultancy team to enable you to contribute technical expertise within the sector.

Key Accountabilities
• Responding efficiently to client enquiries and enhancing client relationships.
• Assisting in marketing the services of TÜV Rheinland Risktec and in producing proposals for work in line with client requirements .
• Managing and supporting management of projects, including setting and controlling budgets, timescales and work quality .
• Delivering successful technical services to clients and rail projects to high quality and in line with client requirements.
• Representing TÜV Rheinland Risktec at industry events and committees such as marketing events, as required.
• Attending meetings with clients and other stakeholders.
• Undertaking visits to railway workshops, depots and yards in accordance with safe working methods and local instructions.
• National and International travel, as required on a project by project basis.
• Developing your own competence and knowledge at the forefront of the railway industry through completion of training and undertaking work activities.
• Undertaking regular review and evaluation of your development with your line manager and mentor to work towards professional registration.
• Assist with any other work requirement as directed by your line manager.

Required Qualifications:
Degree in a relevant discipline, BEng or MEng degree in Railway, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
