A building and construction consultancy in the public and private sector are looking to recruit a Structural Engineer to join their expanding team based in Ipswich. The successful candidate will need to manage, plan and manage structural design projects while ensuring that structures are compliant, economic and safe.Â

Undertake structural inspections and commission specialist surveys

  • Prepare feasibility reports
  • Obtain building regulations
  • Compose engineering drawings using CAD packages and sketches for drafting
  • Assess the environment impact and the risks connected to design decisions
  • Responsible for progress during each phase of a project
  • Manage information of development and information approvals
  • Confirm supplier's ability to deliver information requirements
  • Direct the production of task information in compliance with standards and methods
  • Direct the product of task information
  • Administer contracts

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Structural Engineer or engineering experience
  • Chartership or in progress to attain ICE, I Struct E or equivalent
  • Decision making with minimal supervision abilities
  • Ability to work directly with clients and colleagues to ensure that projects are completed to schedule
