A Design Engineer is required paying a Salary of up to £37K, (may pay more for the right individual) 40 hrs a week, Monday to Friday, Modern Office, working with team of 7 other design engineers, free parking, Structured development programme

A multi-site manufacturing business in East York requires an additional Design engineer to join their welcoming, strong team. The position has come available after significant contract wins across the group. This is a mechanical design engineer opening that would suit someone who was experience working with Commercial Vehicles, HGV, Vehicle Chassis etc.

Key Duties of the Design Engineer

  • Using the job specification to create structured 3d models leading to 2d manufacturing and assembly drawings and accurate Bills of Materials.
  • Ensure drawings are produced to standard formats and take into account vehicle regulations such as Whole Vehicle Type Approval.
  • Amend/update drawings as a result design changes and improvements.
  • Production of sales drawings for customer enquiries.
  • In put into R+D projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Fluency in Autodesk Inventor 2019, Vault 2019 and AutoCad 2019 (Experience of iLogic would be beneficial, but not essential).
  • Good engineering knowledge of materials and their properties (particularly steel, timber and GRP composites).
