Position Summary:
This role represents a good opportunity to use your existing engineering knowledge and qualifications to develop a long-term career with an established, single-site manufacturing business. You will primarily work a dayshift pattern within a small engineering team which supports an 80-strong factory operation across a seven-day shift pattern.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
You will be required to support all production operations at the site and carry out routine and reactive maintenance tasks, including:
- Routine maintenance of mechanical and CNC machinery
- Machine repairs across a wide range of plant.
- Basic Machine/Equipment refurbishment
- Supporting a strategic project to relocate manufacturing to a nearby new site.
Opportunities for some paid overtime to provide occasional out-of-hours cover as necessary.
Qualifications/Education:
- You will either have studied for (or be part-way through) an engineering qualification.
- BTEC certificate in maintenance engineering, or a City & Guilds certificate in engineering.
Experience:
- You will have previous experience of working in a mechanical engineering environment
- You may have some elementary electrical skills.
Particular Aptitude/Skills Required:
- You will be required to be flexible, responsive and able to adapt to situations as they emerge in a dynamic environment
- You will be self-motivated
- You will be able to work within a team environment
- You will already have acquired some skills specific to maintenance engineering (simple metal fabrication, hydraulics and pneumatics)
- You will have basic IT skills
