Main Purpose of Role
Buyers are responsible for the purchase of a range of direct and indirect goods and services required to ensure that the company's operational needs are met, considering sustainability, price, quality, and delivery to ensure continuity of supply.
They will manage a portfolio of suppliers across a range of categories to support our Glass and Beverages production sites in Northern Ireland, England and Italy.
1.Identify opportunities for consolidating spend and undertaking tendering, supplier management and contract management for a wide range of requirements.
2.Manage and develop a network of supplier relationships that deliver value across quality, service, innovation and cost.
3.Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders understanding their requirements and gaining buy-in.
4.Work to build sustainability into company standard procurement processes by helping to embed sound ethical, social and environmental procurement practices.
5.The ability and assertiveness to negotiate and secure contracts and pricing that deliver value and ensure contractual and service commitments are achieved.
6.Process orders efficiently, expedite outstanding orders ensuring stakeholders are always kept informed on order status, and processing invoice queries.
7.Monitor supplier performance and report KPI's on a regular basis, while carrying out periodic reviews.
8.Assist in special projects and other duties, as assigned.
9.Collaborate with Vidrala colleagues across common categories and spend.
10.Ensure Health & Safety and Environmental standards and targets are met and maintained within defined company procedures and legislative requirements.
11.Ensure all Customs Clearance for importation of goods and materials are completed to agreed timelines and all paperwork in relation to Customs Clearance in available/traceable for audit purposes.
12.Any other reasonable duty required by management not listed above.

*Commercially aware and financially astute.
*Knowledge of SAP MRP Modules desirable
*Interpersonal skills, particularly in negotiating

Functional / Technical Skills
*Strong computer skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

*Either working towards or willing to work towards CIPS qualifications.
