MS99 - Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Sheffield

Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 DOE per annum 

Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designing and preparing drawings for surface water, sewer networks and external ground levels in the residential and commercial sectors.
  • Designing and preparing highway designs including vertical and horizontal geometry. Highways and Drainage design experience (S278, 38, 104).
  • The ability to operate specialist software for drainage and infrastructure design including AutoCAD, PDS, and Microdrainage/Windes.
  • Prepare technical schedules.
  • Represent at meetings with the client, other professionals and suppliers when required.
  • Ensure project work is carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget.
  • Ensure that appropriate service/design decisions are met.
  • Communicate with Directors on relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the company and the client are achieved.
  • Coordinating his/her work with other members of the project team and ensuring all relevant staff are informed of client matters.
  • Mentor and assist Graduate Engineers where required.
  • A commitment to CPD and self-learning / development.
  • Actively work towards Chartered Engineering status (where applicable).
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, AutoCAD.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate to have a Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (or Equivalent) and be Chartered or working towards with the ICE (Institute of Civil Engineers).
  • The ideal candidate will have general infrastructure design experience but in particular residential infrastructure design, including drainage and highway design to adoptable standards (S38, S278 and S104 and S206).
  • In addition, some environmental and master planning experience and a broad interest in the urban environment and sustainable development would be preferable.
  • For the top end salary range we would expect chartered or significant years’ experience.
