Murray Recruitment has an immediate new vacancy available for a Health & Safety Advisor to join a well-known Property Services/ Management provider.

This position is available for a freelance contract of 6 monthS initially (possibility this could be extended / a permanent position thereafter)

You will be based from the head office in Glasgow with travel throughout west central Scotland (Glasgow/ Ayrshire)

Main duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced
  • Ensure safe operational procedures which identify and take into account all relevant hazards
  • Carry out regular site inspections/audits to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and standards met
  • Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation
  • Prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policies
  • Work with Operations Managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks
  • Record incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry
  • Produce management reports, and H&S documentation
  • Keep up to date records of inspections and produce reports to suggest improvements

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Formal SVQ/NVQ or equivalent within a H&S qualification
  • Previous experience within similar role within the construction or utilities industry preferably
  • NEBOSH/ IOSH Certification
  • Strong communicator
  • Good IT skills
  • Full UK driving licence

The package available:

  • Salary paying up to £34,000 (position available on an initial 6month contract)
  • Van
  • Mobile
  • Working hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am-5pm
