Salary: £11-£13 ph plus £84 per week shift allowance when doing late/twilight shifts

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Our client is a well-established and expanding manufacturing company based in Birmingham and due to their current projected growth, are now looking to recruit for the position of Paint Shop Masker.

The successful applicant will be based at our production facility in Birmingham City Centre.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Paint Shop Supervisor and as part of the paint shop team, you will be responsible for masking and un-masking detailed components in preparation for paint spraying in accordance with job specifications. This includes using sandpaper, scrapers, and solvent based cleaners. Washes and treats surfaces in a degreaser machine and using various solvent based cleaning fluids (COSHH applies).

Your duties will include but not be limited to the following.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY / EXPERIENCE

- Using tapes, plastic plugs and bungs as required, masking detailed components and large assemblies to drawings and specifications.

- Un-mask components after paint spraying by removing all tapes, plugs and bungs as required. Checking paint surfaces for damage or omissions.

- Ensure tooling system is maintained by filing and checking of kits, flagging omissions or problems to the Paint Shop Supervisor.

- 5S activities.

- Ensure processes are carried out in accordance with the laid down SOP's and Process Specifications within the department.

- Ensure required quality standards are achieved.

- All relevant Health and Safety regulations are adhered to at all times including Risk. Assessments, COSHH Assessments, and Material Safety Data Sheets.

- Components are not damaged through mishandling or faulty processing.

- Productivity is maintained so that the effectiveness and efficiency of the department is at the highest level.

- Work is completed in accordance with required work schedules.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Manufacturing background

- Use of basic hand tools

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:

- Experience of Intricate masking and un-masking of components

- Ability to read and understand technical/GA drawings and specifications

- Basic Computer Skills

HOURS OF WORK:

Fixed Days starting with an early shift with the potential to migrate to a late shift

Early Late

- Monday - Thursday 06:30 - 15:00 Monday - Thursday 13:30 - 22:00

- Friday - 06:30 - 11:30 Friday - 11:00 - 16:00

HOLIDAYS

- 25 Days holiday; a combination of floating days and compulsory factory shutdown over Christmas period.

- Plus, all Bank Holidays
