Our client, one of the Largest bus operators in London, is currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager in one of their Main Depots in South London.
We are looking for Qualified Engineer who is dynamic & self-motivated, comfortable controlling all the engineering resources within the garage to ensure provision of sufficient vehicles to operational Standards our client demands
As Engineering Manager you will face different challenges every day. Not just the overseeing of a maintenance schedule, but there will be a need to deal with a proportion of irregular or unusual events.
We would expect the successful candidate to be able to clearly analyse and define problems that occur within the Depot and of making the correct decisions to provide the required and appropriate solutions.
You will be responsible not only for resolving technical problems, but also Stock issues, Personnel problems & budget issues
Experience required includes; staff management at the appropriate level, a thorough knowledge of all engineering agreements, procedures and rules affecting the garage. You must possess leadership qualities, be capable of motivating staff and commanding respect and be able to work as a team member within the management structure.
Qualifications required include Membership of the IRTE or have another relevant professional qualification and hold or be prepared to gain the NEBOSH general certificate and CPC. You will be required to be a nominated Transport Manager. You will also be expected to successfully complete assessment for Engineering Manager Accreditation by an organisation such as the CPT.
You will need to have a good technical knowledge of common emission control systems and diesel electric hybrids. A good understanding of current technologies and a good idea of technological developments.
